The California Buckeye tree lives in foothills, valley margins, forests, oak savannahs and chaparral in California
Edibility
You can eat the seed of the buckeye tree after you remove the shell and roast. They are mildly toxic in there raw state.
Medicinal Uses
The extract from the nut is used to cure constipation,asthma and is commonly found in Cerebrospinal treatment. If you crush the nut it can be used for a hemorrhoid remedy also the bark was used for toothaches.
